An Ode To 90210

Fox recently had a 90210 reunion show. I know that Pip and I were probably the only ones watching it, but I really felt that it left a lot to be desired. Going through some of my old files I found this Ode that was written right after the show went off the air. Enjoy!

ODE TO 90210

I started watching when you began at West Beverly
Brandon and Brenda were written so cleverly
Kelly was the bitch and Donna had small boobs
Thursday night back then, I was glued to the tube

David was a geek, hard to believe
He followed around Kelly to no reprieve
Steve was a player and slept with Kelly
Andrea was so pure, no chance of a belly
Brandon was on the paper, the West Beverly Blaze
An article with a black man, those were the days
Brenda and Dylan couldn't be a better match
Then Kelly stole him, what a snatch!

They had days in the Peach Pit, and nights at home
Even then Kelly just couldn't be alone...
When Scott shot himself it was a sad day
If only David hadn't pushed his old friend away...
Then David hit the books and skipped a grade
But with Donna he still couldn't get laid...
Emily Valentine soon burned down their float
For sanity, the girl can skip my vote

Oh the summer days down at the beach club
Steve couldn't score then, BT Dub
Andreas graduation speech brought me to tears
She addressed all of my questions, concerns and fears
The gang then changed the Hollywood sign
West Bev '93, then to the Peach Pit to dine
This is when Brenda said her big plans
Back to Minnesota, this should be grand...
She came back in days, not even weeks
To come to California Uni, without he rest of the freaks...

By then Brandon and Kelly were in sync'
And Steve joined the Keg house to get laid and drink...
Speaking of Sex Andrea's life got messy
First with her RA, the bartender Jesse
Donna , Oh Donna what can we say
Seven years with David, just give him a lay
But wait oh Donna, not just yet
He's in the back of a limo with some other pet

Through Radio Stations and Painters to trips to Palm Springs
Aaron Spelling began to change some things
Brenda left and Valerie made the switch,
Apparently Shannen was quite the bitch...
Valerie added some new spice
Sleeping with everyone, now that isn't nice
Dylan, David, Kelly, addicted to drugs
She started hanging out with some pretty mean thugs...
When Brandon poured out his heart and dropped to one knee
Him or Dylan? No "I choose me"
Andrea finally went off to Yale
Thank God...

Graduating from college after all of these trials
Kept me watching with giggles and smiles
The Real World, and here comes the gang
Starting this year off with a bang!
No One had jobs but at the Beverly Beat,
Is Steve Sanders still in heat?

Noah came and graces the show
With another rich kid who thinks he's macho
Brandon and Valerie have since left the group
Donna and David, so Tada what's the scoop?
Fashion Stores and the After Dark
Whichever endeavor they choose to embark
I'll follow the gang wherever they go,
I'm just as much a part of them you know...

Now when Kelly said no to Brandon, I almost lost my faith
But not to worry the show got a new waif
Welcome to the zip code nasty girl Gina
We needed someone just a bit meena'
Donna and Noah while Steve has a kid
Who would have thought? I never did...
Now Kelly and Matt are getting wed
Not if he wears those Tevas in bed!

At this moment I shed a tear
For the gang whose lives I have held so dear...
The show is cancelled, alas it will be no more
That Donna sure turned in to a raving whore...

Take this poem as a fond farewell
A eulogy, a final ringing of the bell
I will miss you a lot, gang of 90210
I wish you good luck wherever you go...
You will always be the best show on the planet,
But Steve, I think you messed up choosing Janet...
I will miss you all in my living room
But hopefully, Beverly kids, I'll be seeing you
soon...
