To say 2020 was a bit of a shit show is an understatement of cosmic proportions. I’m going to try really hard not to dwell on the past, cause let’s be honest, 2021 isn’t off to a stellar start. That said, I’ve been doing these “Look Back” posts since back in 2010 and I’m going to continue the tradition.
I’m thrilled to say I did more posting this year than in years past. I knocked out 66 posts, WAY up from last year’s output of a paltry 24. A MAJOR reason for the increase in output is that we started a podcast which accounted for 31 of those posts. I’ve got to tell you I’m absolutely loving it cause it gives me another reason to talk to Pip on a regular basis. We’d be honored if you’d join us – www.406northlane.com/category/podcast-vlog/ – you can subscribe on your favorite podcast platform! I mentioned in last year’s recap that I was toying with the idea of doing a show so I’m excited to see it got off the ground in 2020.
It’s always interesting (to me at least) to see what posts my readers (and now listeners) are interested in so I put these lists together. Enjoy!
The Top 10 Posts of 2020
(Based on Number of Views)
#10 – Rambo: Last Blood (2019) – The Last Rambo?
A movie review of the final (?) entry in the RAMBO franchise, 2019’s Rambo: Last Blood.
#9 – Dolph Ziggler – Kent State University Alumni Profile
If you’re a WWE fan you’ll know the name Dolph Ziggler. What you may not know is that guy (real name Nic Nemeth) went to my wife’s alma mater Kent State University.
#8 – 10 Day Influential Album Challenge
I’m sure you’ve seen these things floating around Facebook. It’s a ‘challenge’ where you’re supposed to do something every day and then tag someone else to do to the same. 10 albums that have influenced my musical taste – one record a day for 10 days.
#7 – Try Some Cinnamon In Your Eye
A random weekend recap with the boys. It just goes to show you that ‘life blogging’ is alive and well. Think no one is interested in what you have to say? JUST WRITE!
#6 – The 10 Day Movie Challenge
If I’m being honest I totally forgot I did this. I’m sure you’ve seen these things before floating around Facebook. The 10 day movie challenge: You are to post just an image, no explanation, from 10 movies that had an impact on you. 10 movies, 10 images, 10 nominations. No explanations.
#5 – Official WrestleMania Logos Through The Years
I’m a wrestling geek. And more often than you’d think I find myself looking for an official WrestleMania logo from one year or another. I decided to go digging and find them all and put them in one place so they’d be easily accessible.
#4 – My Commercial Series Char-Broil Grill With Rusty Innards
Holding strong at #4. I love grilling. Here’s the story of a grill that had seen its better days.
#3 – The Missing Elf on the Shelf
Do you have an Elf on the Shelf that comes to visit your kids around the holidays? We do. Holding steady at #3 from last year is the story of what happened when we lost him.
#2 – Official WrestleMania 36 Drinking Game
Since 2005 (?) Pip and I have been getting together every year to watch WrestleMania and resurrect our battle with the fearsome Beeramid. Every year we create a drinking game to accompany that evening’s festivities. It has grown in infamy to where every year I have multiple people ask when it will be posted. Even though we did WrestleMania 36 virtually this year, we still created and played by our rules.
#1 – Death In Box – McDonald’s Dinner Box
Up one spot from last year’s list. Have you ever wondered the nutritional value of McDonald’s Family Meal? I did the research… get ready to be appalled.
As always, I’ve got lots to say and a lot on my mind so I’m really looking forward to a busy 2021 here on the blog and the podcast! Stay tuned and thanks for reading and listening!
