Bryan Adams And The Beer Aisle

Bryan Adams & The Beer AisleSo I was walking through the grocery store this evening picking up a few things that The Wife emailed me to bring home.  After I’d gone through my list and gleefully singing, “A loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter!” on my way to checkout, I came across the beer aisle.  If you’ve read my stuff or follow me on Twitter you know I’m a big fan of beer so I have a tendency to stop and gaze at the beer aisle with the reverence that it so justly deserves.

As folks do when they’re faced with something they want to remember,  I snapped a picture so I could remember the beautiful sight, and put it on Instagram & Twitter with the following message: “So this is what Bryan Adams was singing about…”

Quite honestly I was going for the Bryan Adams classic Heaven, but my followers almost immediately pointed out that there were  a couple of other options that would have worked as well.  @TonyMazur suggested that this may be the Summer of 69 aisle, @spiedrahater correctly guessed Heaven, and @lexus1scott brilliantly observed that if those bottles broke, they would definitely Cut Like A Knife.

Doing a quick check of the Bryan Adams song catalog, it appears that the man likes to sing about the beer aisle quite a bit:

  • All For Love
  • Cloud Number Nine
  • (Everything I Do) I Do It For You <– My personal favorite
  • Here I AM
  • I’m Ready
  • Let’s Make It A Night To Remember
  • One Night Love Affair
  • Please Forgive Me
  • Thought I’d Dies And Gone To Heaven
  • You’ve Been A Friend To Me

I’ve got to say that I have a new found respect for Bryan Adams.  It takes a certain kind of badassery to be singing about the beer aisle all of these years and disguising them as love songs.    Well done sir.  Tonight I tip a Molsen in your honor.     Take off eh!
