Embracing Failure as a Browns Fan

Owen 16 - jimmert444Just spitballing here for a moment… I’m trying to keep it positive, but it’s proving difficult.

If the Cleveland Browns finish the season “defeated” (0-16) which is looking more and more likely each Sunday, Hue Jackson will have a head coaching record of 1-31.

– 12/17 we host the 7-6 Baltimore Ravens.
– 12/24 we’re at the 4-9 Chicago Bears
– 12/31 we’re at the 11-2 Pittsburgh Steelers

I don’t have high hopes for any of these games if I’m being honest.

Baltimore is still in the playoff hunt and should lay the wood to us next week.

We’re in Chicago on 12/24 which would presumably give us the best chance of winning but asking DeShone Kizer to go on the road and get a win seems to be asking quite a bit (unless it’s an interception contest in which we’d win going away).

Finally we’re in Pittsburgh on New Year’s Eve. Even if the Steelers have home field advantage through the playoffs wrapped up there’s no way in hell they’d allow ‘their rival’ the Browns to get their first win of the season on their home turf.

Back to Jackson. If they bring him back, they’ll be asking us to get behind a coach that has a 3.2% success rate. I’d love to have a job where I could fail 96.8% of the time.

Again. I’m trying to be positive but as I sit here in my 40’s it’s tough to continue to look toward next year. And let’s not even talk about trying to raise kids to be Browns fans.
