Jimmy Fallon Is Knocking It Out Of The Park

Jimmy Fallon, Idina Menzel & The RootsThis post started out as a Current Favs On YouTube post but I quickly realized that there was a common bond between all 3 of these videos: Jimmy Fallon.  In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know who Jimmy Fallon is he’s the 39 year old genius that recently took over hosting the Tonight Show.  Before taking the reigns from Jay Leno, Fallon was on Saturday Night Live and hosted his own late night show called (ironically) Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

I’ve been a fan of Fallon’s since his SNL days specifically his musical stuff.  He plays guitar and sings and often works it into his routine and the shows he’s on. Thankfully, he’s carried his love for music through to his current gig.

Jimmy Fallon, Idina Menzel & The Roots Sing “Let It Go” from “Frozen”

You may only know Idina Menzel from when douche bag John Travolta butchered her name at this year’s Oscars.  If that’s all you know of her you’re way behind the curve.  This lady can sing like few others and is hot!  I’ll admit… I’ve got a crush.  I don’t care if she’s singing kids songs and show tunes, I get goosebumps damn near ever time I hear her sing.  In this clip, she sings “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen with Jimmy and his house band The Roots.

On a side note… seriously John.  You’ve got one fucking job to do.  Sure, Idina Menzel isn’t the most normal name on the planet, but “Adele Dazeem”?  Come on dude.  My 6 year old could do better.

Billy Joel and Jimmy Fallon Form 2-Man Doo-Wop Group Using iPad App

Remember when I talked about musical talent Fallon had?  Get a load of this.  He’s got legend Billy Joel sitting on the couch and they whip up a 2-man Doo-wap version of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” using nothing but their voices and an iPad app.  Brilliant.

Kevin Bacon’s Footloose Entrance

And finally, I’ll leave you with this.  If you know one thing about me its that I embrace my inner child on a regular basis.  Well, my inner child grew up in the 80’s. And when we’re talking 80’s there’s one man, and one movie that is the avatar of that decade…
