As I did last year, once again this year I participated in No-Shave November. The goal of the event is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you usually spend on shaving and grooming for a month to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.
A similar activity, Movember, is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers, and associated charities. I’m not a mustache guy (I’d look even more like Paul Blart) so I went the no-shave route instead.
If you’d like to support me you can check out my personal fundraising page here – www.no-shave.org/member/killthecan. Alternatively, if you’re also participating in No-Shave November you can join the team I set up here – www.no-shave.org/team/killthecan.
Last year I messed up and didn’t take a selfie at the beginning of the month. I’ve remedied that this year and I took a selfie a day throughout the month.
I allowed myself one small “cheat” when it came to shaving my neck. If I didn’t take care of the neck beard I’d be this guy… and no one wants that.
I’m typically not a big selfie guy but during No Shave November I’ll make an exception.
Post has been edited througout the month with new pictures. I’ve edited it again today to fix the tenses in the text. It bothered me all month.
Cancer sucks… if there’s anything I can do to combat it I’m all in.
