I’m not sure we needed it, but we’re getting a both a sequel to and spin-off from the Ocean’s Trilogy, called Ocean’s 8 which will be released on June 8, 2018, by Warner Bros. Pictures. The premise, according to Wikipedia is:
Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou, Rose, Nine Ball, Tammy, Amita, and Constance.
It was directed by Gary Ross and stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter.
As you can see it’s got a great ensemble cast as did the previous entries. Ocean’s Eleven (2001) I absolutely loved. Ocean’s Twelve (2004) was sort of meh for me and I don’t think I even bothered with Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) so I was sort of surprised to see this new entry pop up. I just hope this all female cast doesn’t suffer the same fate as Ghostbusters (2016) and folks give it a fair shot.
