The Weekend That Was WrestleMania 32

Wrestlemania 32 WeekendI’ve got a rule. I won’t go to Indy for my yearly trip until I blog about the previous Pip / Chewie weekend. Well, I’ve broken that rule since I’m writing this recap after I returned to Indianapolis. What can I say… bad blogger. As I write this recap I’m realizing that not only did I not do our yearly recap, but I never even got around to writing my Beeramid recap for this year. Apologies up and down. Before I can get to my recap of last weekend in Indianapolis (which was awesome as always) I need to recap the last time Pip was in Cleveland (which was awesome as always).

NOTE: Thank goodness for social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Swarm and Foursquare. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have a chance in hell of remembering where we went when.

Wrestlemania 32 Weekend - Melt Bar & GrilledFriday April 1st, 2016

Met Pip for lunch at the Winking Lizard to start off our weekend of being stupid. From there we got our geek on and took in a showing of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) which wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great either. It was just too damn long. Dinner was at MELT with the family which is always tremendous if not the best idea for the waistline.

Saturday April 2nd, 2016

Woke up on Saturday and spent some time with the kiddos. Headed to our favorite spot from last year Fat Head’s Brewery for some lunch and beer tasting. Once again did a flight of beers and some mammoth wings but this year we added nachos to the mix. Good God the nachos. I think I’m still full nearly six months later.

After lunch we headed to… another bar. This time 16-Bit Bar+Arcade. If you’ve never been to one of these places you need to stop what you’re doing right now and go find one. Old school video games on free play and booze. Throw in the fact that they had some kickin tunes playing and some incredible movies being show (The Force Awakens followed by Road House) and you’ve got yourself a winner. In addition to a great lineup of beers they’ve got some specialty drinks named after 80’s pop culture… I went with the Macho Man which comes complete with a Slim Jim.

Stops at BW3 and The Annex ended the night.

Sunday April 3rd, 2016

WrestleMania day is upon us! Took the kids to McDonald’s for what has become a guys tradition. Pip and I chat while the kids play. This worked out especially well this year as Wife was sick as a dog for most of the weekend 🙁 Back to BW3 to pick up wings for dinner and then back home to battle The Beeramid with Marko which we successfully toppled yet again. Not only that but we went one row bigger than we did last year!

As always seems to be the case, Monday far too soon and it was time for me to head to work and for Pip to hit the road. As I said I went to Indy last weekend  and Pip’s next trip to Cleveland (hopefully) will be for WrestleMania 33 on April 2nd, 2017. Stay tuned!
