WWE Money In the Bank 2026 – Penta and Tiffany Stratton Grab the Briefcases!
The 2026 edition of WWE Money in the Bank took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
For the first time, WWE moved Money in the Bank to October, giving the annual event a very different spot on the calendar. With WrestleMania season still months away, the winners of this year’s briefcases have plenty of time to shake things up.
We got two Money in the Bank ladder matches, two World Championship matches, a battle between two absolute monsters, and a surprising championship change.
By the time the night was over, Roman Reigns was still World Heavyweight Champion, Liv Morgan had reclaimed the Women’s World Championship, Tiffany Stratton was once again Miss Money in the Bank, and Penta had secured the biggest opportunity of his WWE career.
Only five matches on the card, but there was certainly plenty to talk about. Let’s get into it.

Roman Reigns Defeated LA Knight To Retain The World Heavyweight Championship

We opened the show with Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight.
First of all, I love that WWE decided to open with this match. There’s no rule that says your biggest championship match has to close the show, especially when you’ve got two Money in the Bank ladder matches on the card. I also sort of love the fact that with this match in the opening spot, there’s no chance for a late night cash in. That’s a good thing.
LA Knight has been one of the most popular guys on the roster for years now, though you wouldn’t know it based on the way WWE books him. Unfortunately he was standing across the ring from Roman Reigns.
This was a nearly 27-minute match that gave Knight plenty of opportunities to look like a legitimate threat. Roman did what Roman does best, controlling the pace and making every big moment feel important. In the end, Reigns pick up the pinfall victory and retain his championship.
I don’t have a problem with the outcome. Roman is still one of the biggest attractions in professional wrestling, and taking the championship off him here would have been a pretty significant decision. That said, I do wonder how many more times LA Knight can get this close without actually winning the big one.
At some point, WWE needs to decide whether Knight is a legitimate main event player or simply the guy who makes the champion look good. Regardless, this was a terrific way to start the show.
Tiffany Stratton Wins the Women’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match

The women’s Money in the Bank ladder match featured Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, and Sol Ruca.
I’ve been a fan of Tiffany for quite some time… and no, not just cause she’s hot. The match itself was exactly what you’d expect from a Money in the Bank ladder match. Lots of chaos, plenty of dangerous-looking spots, and six women putting their bodies on the line for a championship opportunity.
After just over 15 minutes, Stratton climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase, becoming a two-time Money in the Bank winner. I love this decision.
Tiffany has already proven she can carry championship gold, and putting the briefcase back in her hands immediately makes every women’s championship match more interesting.
The biggest question now is whether WWE lets her hold onto the contract for a while or pulls the trigger on another cash-in relatively quickly. Personally, I’d like to see her carry it for a bit. It’s Tiffy Time.
Oba Femi Defeated Bronson Reed

Sometimes you just need two enormous human beings beating the hell out of one another. That’s exactly what we got with Oba Femi and Bronson Reed.
Oba ultimately picked up the victory after approximately 12 minutes. And that’s the right decision.
That said, I can’t say I was all the enthralled with this one. I didn’t think there was a chance in hell that Bronson was going to win this one so, in my mind, why even have the match? Maybe that’s just me.
I DO appreciate that WWE didn’t make this some ridiculous 25-minute epic. These guys went out there, did what they do best, and got out.
Oba Femi is going to be a world champion sooner rather than later. If I had to guess, I’d say no later than next year’s WrestleMania.
Liv Morgan Defeated Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch to Win the Women’s World Championship

Let’s get this out of the way up front… I’m a huge Liv Morgan fan. But I can’t pretend her last world title reign was anything less than boring.
This went just under 17 minutes and in the end, Morgan connected with Oblivion on Vaquer to score the pinfall and reclaim the Women’s World Championship.
I’ll admit, I was a little surprised by this one.
Not because Liv doesn’t deserve the championship, but because I thought WWE might give Vaquer a longer run with the title. ESPECIALLY coming off what most would consider a pretty sub-standard run from Liv last time.
And with Tiffany now holding the Money in the Bank briefcase… could we get a potential Tiffany cash-in on Liv Morgan?
Sign me up. But in that case… who would I root for?!?!
Penta Wins the Men’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match

The main event featured Penta, Bron Breakker, CM Punk, Je’Von Evans, Kevin Owens, and Trick Williams battling for the men’s Money in the Bank contract.
On paper, this was easily the match I was most looking forward to. And with the match going more than 32 minutes, everyone had plenty of time to make an impact.
Je’Von Evans continues to amaze me with some of the things he’s capable of doing in the ring. The guy is ridiculously athletic, and WWE would be foolish not to build around him in the years to come.
Bron Breakker is another guy who feels destined for world championship gold. I’ve been high on Bron for a long time, and nothing I’ve seen recently has changed my mind.
Kevin Owens being back in the ring after the uncertainty surrounding his career is still awesome to see. As I mentioned in my SummerSlam recap, there was a time when it genuinely looked like we might never see KO wrestle again.
Seeing him involved in a major match like this is a win in itself.
CM Punk brings an entirely different element to a match like this. He doesn’t need to be the most athletic guy in the ring to make his presence felt.
And Trick Williams continues to look like someone who belongs on the big stage. I’m still not a huge Lil Yachty fan, but the association certainly gives Trick a different presentation.
Ultimately, though, the night belonged to Penta. The Money in the Bank contract immediately elevates him into the world championship conversation. He wouldn’t have been my first choice, but Penta winning feels fresh.
It’s a chance to create a new main event star rather than simply giving another opportunity to someone who’s already been there. The question is… will they do it? Will they actually build a NEW star or will he get the LA Knight treatment?
WWE Money In the Bank 2026 – Final Thoughts
Money In the Bank 2026 was a really solid show.
Five matches. No unnecessary filler. Two exciting ladder matches, a major championship change, and a couple of strong singles matches.
That’s a pretty good night of professional wrestling.
Roman Reigns and LA Knight delivered a terrific opening match, and while I would have loved to see Knight finally get his moment, I understand the decision to keep the championship on Roman.
Oba Femi continues to look like a future superstar. It really is just a matter of time.
Liv Morgan reclaiming the Women’s World Championship was a surprise, but I don’t hate the decision.
And then there are the two Money in the Bank winners.
Tiffany Stratton winning another briefcase makes sense. She’s already one of the biggest stars in the women’s division, and having that contract hanging over the championship picture gives WWE plenty of storytelling options.
There are plenty of guys on the roster who could have benefited from winning Money in the Bank, but Penta feels like someone who can genuinely take his career to another level with this victory.
I hope WWE follows through.
Overall, a very entertaining show that sets up some intriguing possibilities for the months ahead.
