Favorite MCU Films Six Through Ten

🎙️ Recorded: August 24th, 2023

Episode #81Overview

Chewie and Pip are finally back behind the microphones after taking most of the summer off, and they’re returning to a topic they first tackled more than two years earlier: their favorite movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Back in Episode #51, the guys revealed their Top Five MCU movies. This time they’re digging deeper into the rankings and revealing their favorites #6 through #10. With two additional years of Marvel movies to consider, they also ask whether anything released since their original list is good enough to crack the Top Five.

Their lists span the MCU from its earliest days with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk through Captain America: The First Avenger, the Guardians of the Galaxy films, Black Panther, The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home. And for the first time in one of these ranking episodes, Chewie and Pip actually land on the same movie in the same position.

Rather than doing traditional honorable mentions, they also choose their favorite non-MCU Marvel movies, leading to two very different picks: The Punisher starring Thomas Jane and Wesley Snipes’ Blade.

Finally, Chewie and Pip step back from the rankings to discuss the state of Marvel after Endgame. Has the MCU become too diluted between theatrical movies and Disney+ shows? Can the franchise ever reach the heights of the Infinity Saga again? And has comic-book movie fatigue finally started to set in?
