Eat Local – Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain (June 25, 1956 – June 8, 2018) was a celebrity chef, author, and travel documentarian. He focused on the exploration of international culture, cuisine, and the human condition. Dare I say he was a modern day Renaissance man who we lost much too early. I ran across this earlier today when a friend shared it to his Facebook feed and I wanted to share it here.

Eat Local – Anthony Bourdain

“Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you.

Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways.

Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride.” ~ Anthony Bourdain

I don’t know about you, but I really DO try to eat local for a variety of reasons. Thanks for the reminder Anthony.
