My Twitter Conversation With The Hulkster

One of the reasons I love Twitter is because you can “interact” with people you’d never run across in your regular life. Case in point… I tweeted at Hulk Hogan the other day with an image of a bad ass tattoo that I ran across on Instagram from user @wrestlingtattoos. Lo and behold, the Hulkster responded… and made my day. Not sure how long these tweets will be out there, but here’s my original tweet … Continue reading

The Best of 2015 – A Look Back At 406Northlane.com

2015 Top Ten

I’ve been doing these “Best Of” since back in 2010.  I really upped my blogging output this past year but that doesn’t mean I’m happy. There’s still a lot I want to say… just look at my drafts folder! I’m sort of an analytics geek so I really look forward to writing these recap posts. It’s always interesting (to me at least) to see what posts make the list and to see if there are posts … Continue reading

WWE HOF Ceremony Drinking Game

2015 WWE HOF Ceremony

Pip & I are kicking it up a notch this year and we’ve come up with a way to make the HOF ceremony drinkable. Last year was OK at best with several inductees talking WAY too long. This year we’ll be prepared. Posting this from my phone so apologies in advance. 1 drink per head lick 1 drink for every “ooh yeah” 3 drink per diety thank you 1 drink per person crying during Connor … Continue reading

Macho Man To The WWE Hall Of Fame Finally?

Macho Man Pointing

Reports are coming out from TMZ and other news sources that on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW, the WWE will announce its first entry into the 2015 WWE HOF Class and it will be none other than Randy “Macho Man” Savage! This is YEARS too late in my book but I’m happy that it appears as if it’s going to happen. I posted this plea directly to Vince and crew back when Randy passed … Continue reading

Just Remember Folks… Randy Stopped The Rapture

Macho Man Stops The Rapture

Two years ago today Randy “Macho Man” Savage passed away after having a heart attack behind the wheel of his car.  I had a note on my calendar because I wanted to remember Randy’s passing.  After all, I’m a wrestling nerd and he is / was one of my all time favorite superstars. What I did NOT remember, was two years ago today was the day when the world was supposed to end in the … Continue reading

R.I.P. Macho Man Randy Savage

The "Macho Man" Randy Savage

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye today to one of my all time favorite wrestlers – The “Macho Man” Randy Savage.  Randy (real name Randall Poffo) passed away earlier today after a car accident.  Apparently he had a heart attack at the wheel while driving.  He was 58 years old. Randy Savage, best knowing for his time in the WWF with his wife/manager Miss Elizabeth, was one of the best … Continue reading

The WrestleMania 27 Drinking Game

WrestleMania 27 Logo

WrestleMania XXVII (27 for those not versed in Roman numerals) will take place on April 3rd, 2011.  I’m thrilled to report that Pip and I will once again renew tradition and construct… The Beeramid.  Just as in past years, we create a set of “rules” that will govern that evening’s events. Without further adieu… it’s on. 5 drinks for a People’s Elbow 3 drinks for any unannounced legend that’s in attendance 5 drinks for any … Continue reading

WrestleMania X (1993)

Event: WrestleMania X Date: March 20, 1994 Venue: Madison Square Garden (New York, New York) Attendance: 18,065 We kick off the show with images from the original WrestleMania.  Little Richard sings America The Beautiful poorly.  Pretty sure he was lip syncing and he looks like a damn wax statue.  Scary dude.  We get Jerry “The King” Lawler and Vince McMahon on the mic. Owen Hart defeated Bret Hart We get a great recap here pre-match.  … Continue reading

Double Main Event (Kind Of) – WrestleMania VIII

WrestleMania VIII (1992)

Event: WrestleMania VIII Date: April 5, 1992 Venue: Hoosier Dome ( Indianapolis, Indiana) Attendance: 65,167 This show was billed as having a “double main event” which rarely (if ever) works out.  I believe that this is the first Mania event that I watched live on PPV.  We get Gorilla and Bobby Heenan on the mic here which is a good lineup.  Reba McEntire sings the national anthem.  It seems weird that the WWF can never … Continue reading

Super Stars And Stripes Forever – WrestleMania VII

WrestleMania VII (1991)

Event: WrestleMania VII Date: March 24, 1991 Venue: Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena (Los Angeles, California) Attendance: 16,158 At WrestleMania VI, it was announced that this event would be held at the LA Memorial Coliseum.  Between WM VI and now, the venue was changed to the Sports Arena.  According to the WWF at the time, this was due to some death threats that Slaughter had received.  Other reports say it was due to slow ticket … Continue reading
