Yesterday morning my dad, mom, brother and I rented a log splitter and worked for about 5 hours splitting about two and a half cords of wood. A cord is 4 feet x 4 feet x 8 feet and it’s a TON of wood. Needless to say hauling, splitting and stacking all of that wood is not easy work so I’m sore as hell today. The one GREAT thing about this is I’m a HUGE fan of a wood fire. The work that we did yesterday ensures that all three of our families will have plenty of firewood for probably a good 4-5 years to come.
After my morning of wood splitting, I headed home and proceeded to blow leaves with G & C for about an hour. I can’t even tell you how happy the G man is to be out working in the yard with Dad. Brings a smile to my face every time (even when he’s blowing leave BACK in the beds that I just spent 20 minutes cleaning out).
Soreness… Is Real
And I thought weekends were supposed to be relaxing? I need to get back to the office. I need a break. Thank god for Extra Strength Tylenol!
Obvious question… Where’d ya get the wood? Cut it or buy it?
Dad had quite a few large trees taken down in the spring. They’d been cut but not split.
