It’s not often that the wife and I find a movie (or TV show) that we both enjoy. I’m halfway embarrassed to say but Paul Blart: Mall Cop happens to be one of those movies. As big King of Queens fans both A and I really enjoy Kevin James. When I first saw the previews for this I totally didn’t think I’d enjoy it. It looked completely campy and the jokes looks WAY too easy.
After watching it, I can say that the it was completely campy and the jokes were WAY too easy. That said, we found ourselves giggling multiple times and laughing out loud a couple of times.
There’s not a whole lot from a “plot” perspective to review here. Paul Blart (Kevin James) is a mall cop who takes his job incredibly seriously. Keri O’Donnel (of Flash Forward and Sons of Anarchy fame) plays the “villain” with the master plan to take over the mall and Jayma Mays (Heroes and Glee) plays the love interest that is necessary in these type of popcorn movies.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this one. If you’re looking for a quick, feel good, laugh a little flick I’d suggest you add it to your queue!
