Pick Up a Burger And Watch ‘Super Size Me’

If you’re like me you have eaten your fair share of fast food.  Actually… if you’re like me you’ve eaten more than your fair share of fast food.  I think it’s safe to say that we all understand that this stuff isn’t “good” for us but until you watch Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock you may not know just how BAD it is for you.

Super Size Me (2004)

To make a long story short, Spurlock wanted to see just how bad fast food, and specifically McDonald’s, is for a person.   So he decided to go on the McDiet.  3 meals a day, 7 days a week for an entire month.  If McDonald’s didn’t sell it, he wasn’t allowed to eat it.  He had to eat everything on the menu at least once during that month and if he was ever asked if he wanted to “super size” his meal he HAD to say yes.

In addition to watching Spurlock’s progress through the months you are shown numerous interviews with food professionals, education professionals, lawyers and politicians.  You’re told how the food is processed, where it comes from and how it affects the human body.

Super Size Me – Final Thoughts

This isn’t about the weight that he gained, the increase in cholesterol, mood swings or fat.  It’s about the entire journey that he goes through.  While this isn’t the most scientific experiment you’ll ever run across it’s certainly one of the most entertaining.
