WWE Encyclopedia Updated & Expanded

WWE Encyclopedia (2012)

To say I’m behind on my blog here would be an understatement. I just went through and cleaned up my drafts. (IE, removed stuff that I’d started and won’t bother finishing because it’s no longer topical or relevant). I’m still left with over 50 drafts. And that DOESN’T include at least a dozen or so that I know are coming but I’ve not officially started. All of that said, I figured tonight is as good … Continue reading

Rest In Peace ‘Iron Mike’ Sharpe

Iron Mike Sharpe

I hate writing posts like this. I found out today that former WWF wrestler “Iron Mike” Sharpe passed away yesterday at the age of 64. Apparently he’d been battling health issues for quite some time. While Sharpe was known best for being a “jobber” in the WWF (a guy that loses most of his matches) he actually won quite a few championships throughout his career. Being a jobber or enhancement talent is a lost art … Continue reading

Proud To Be A Wrestling Fan AKA Mark

AJ Styles On Wrestling Marks

I ran across this meme of professional wrestler A.J. Styles talking about “marks”. “People use the word “mark” as some sort of disparaging term. It’s not. We, as wrestling fans, are all marks. If you’ve ever bought a ticket to  show, you’re a mark. If you’ve ever cheered or booed someone, you’re a mark. Hell, I’m a mark. I am a professional wrestling mark. Being a mark isn’t bad. It should be a term of … Continue reading

WWF Royal Rumble (1994) Pinball Machine

So my brother Mark went and bought himself a kickass new toy last week – a WWF Royal Rumble pinball machine from 1994. This goes nicely with his Tommy Pinball Wizard machine but I digress… So I went over this weekend to help him get it into the basement and get it set up. This machine is beautiful. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. With that said though, we’ve got an … Continue reading

Macho Man To The WWE Hall Of Fame Finally?

Macho Man Pointing

Reports are coming out from TMZ and other news sources that on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW, the WWE will announce its first entry into the 2015 WWE HOF Class and it will be none other than Randy “Macho Man” Savage! This is YEARS too late in my book but I’m happy that it appears as if it’s going to happen. I posted this plea directly to Vince and crew back when Randy passed … Continue reading

Rest In Peace – Ultimate Warrior Dead At 54

The Ultimate Warrior

Just days after he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, the Ultimate Warrior has passed away at the age of 54. The story broke last night just after midnight when real life WWE Chief Operating Officer and WWE Superstar Triple H announced the news via Twitter. Warrior, who was born Jim Hellwig but legally changed his name to simply Warrior in 1993, was on RAW Monday night for the first time in years. … Continue reading

Ways To Improve Pro Wrestling

Hulk Hogan

I’ve had the idea for this post for quite a while now and I’m finally getting around to actually writing it.  I’m not quite sure where its headed, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a bit of a rant.  For those readers that aren’t in the mood to listen to me bitch about what’s wrong with the wrestling feel free to move along. Still with me?  OK… here goes.  In no particular order. Mandatory … Continue reading

R.I.P. Macho Man Randy Savage

The "Macho Man" Randy Savage

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye today to one of my all time favorite wrestlers – The “Macho Man” Randy Savage.  Randy (real name Randall Poffo) passed away earlier today after a car accident.  Apparently he had a heart attack at the wheel while driving.  He was 58 years old. Randy Savage, best knowing for his time in the WWF with his wife/manager Miss Elizabeth, was one of the best … Continue reading

WrestleMania XIV Poster

Event: WrestleMania XIV Date: March 29, 1998 Venue: Fleet Center (Boston, Massachusetts) Attendance: 19,028 We’re still in the WWF days… I keep thinking we’re flipping over to WWE pretty soon.  Good intro here that’s just starting to talk about the “Attitude Era”.  Goes into the lineage of the WWF title, introduces Austin, DX, Mike Tyson, etc.  We get the announcing duo of Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole on the mic and we go … Continue reading

WrestleMania XII (1996)

Event: WrestleMania XII Date: March 31, 1996 Venue: Arrowhead Pond (Anaheim, California) Attendance: 18,853 Still coming to you as the World Wrestling Federation.  Damn if I can’t remember when the switch came.  I could have sworn it was around this time.  We start off with a Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels promo and go right into the action – No America The Beautiful or National Anthem. Camp Cornette (Vader, Owen Hart and The British Bulldog) (with Jim … Continue reading
